Messenger lets you exchange texts, photos, videos, and more with your friends. You might be wondering if there is a way to find out when your friends are online on Messenger. Luckily, Messenger lets you know when your friends are active.
We will explain in this article how to know if someone is active on Messenger.
On Messenger Mobile App
Step1: Launch the Facebook Messenger app and tap the contacts icon in the bottom menu. The contacts icon will look like a bullet list document.
Step2: Tap the Active button at the top of the contacts page.
The screen will show you all the profiles in your contacts that are active at the moment. A small green circle will appear on your friends’ profile pictures if they are online.
On Desktop
Step1: Login to the Messenger website using your desktop browser. You will see a list of your recent conversations on the computer screen.
Step2: Click the cog icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
Step3: Select Active Contacts. Make sure that the toggle next to your name is enabled. Otherwise, you would not be able to see the active status of your contacts.
The screen will show you all the profiles in your contacts that are active at the moment.
