We often leave our social media accounts like Snapchat logged in for our convivence’s sake. But doing that can compromise our personal information. For instance, people can open our Snapchat app and see our private conversations and pictures.
We will show you how to put a password on Snapchat to prevent other people from accessing your private chats and pictures.
Put Password on Your Snapchat Messages
Step1: Install SC Chat Locker app on your Android device. You can install the app for free from Google Play Store.
Step2: After installing the app, launch it and create a 4-digit passcode. Enter the 4-digit passcode again to confirm your choice.
Step3: Now, you will see a prompt asking you to set up a password recovery email.
You can skip this step, but you will be glad if you now do this step. It will let you reset your passcode if you forget it in the future.
Without setting up a recovery email, you cannot access your password-protected messages on Snapchat if you lose your passcode.
Step4: Give the SC chat locker app the necessary permissions on your device.
Step5: The SC chat locker will show you all of your Snapchat conversations. You can lock them with your selected password or make them password-free using the on-screen buttons.
You have successfully put a password on your Snapchat messages. When someone opens your locked Snapchat conversations, a pop-up will appear asking for the passcode. It will ensure that only you can access your private messages on Snapchat.
However, the SC chat locker app only places a password on your Snapchat conversations. Your private pictures on Snapchat are still unprotected. Anyone can access them if they have access to your phone.
Fortunately, Snapchat lets you protect your private pictures on its platform. You can secure your Snapchat pictures by moving them into the “My Eyes Only” tab.
How to Secure Pictures on Snapchat using the “My Eyes Only” Feature
Step1: Open the Snapchat app and tap the Memories icon near the Camera button.
Step2: Select the snaps you want to secure with a password, then tap the Hide button at the bottom of the screen.
Step3: Tap Quick Setup and create a passcode or passphrase that will be necessary to access your selected pictures.
Step4: Enter the passcode again to confirm your choice, then tap Finish.
Now people cannot access your selected pictures on Snapchat without a password. But you can always access them by visiting the “My Eyes Only” tab in your Memories and entering the password.
