Displaying your location on Snapchat is a great way to let your friends know how you are spending your day. There are several ways to tag location on Snapchat. We will cover in this article three different methods to showcase your location on Snapchat.
Method1: Add Your Location on the Snap Map
Step1: Open the Snapchat app and swipe down on the camera screen. It will lead you to the Snapchat Map screen.
Step2: Tap the cog icon in the top-right corner of the map.
Step3: Select My Friends under “Who Can See My Location” to let your friends see your location when you are active on Snapchat. You can also choose other options if you want to customize who can see your location on Snap Map. The options include “Only These Friends…” and “My Friends Except…”.
You can also create a personalized bitmoji by tapping the Create Bitmoji option. It will appear on the Snap Map and represent your location. If you later decide to hide your location on Snap Map, turn on the Ghost Mode option.
Method2: Add a Location Sticker
Step1: Open the Snapchat app and take the picture to which you want to tag a location. You can also select a saved picture from your phone’s gallery.
Step2: Tap the sticker icon in the top-right column menu. It will appear as a partially peeled square sticker.
Step3: Select the Location sticker. You can also use the search bar to look for the location sticker.
Step4: Choose a location that best describes your current position. If none of the locations is correct, use the search bar to find your location.
Step5: You can relocate or resize the location sticker by manipulating it with your fingers.
Step6: Share the picture on your story by tapping the Story option or send it to your friends by tapping the Send To button.
Method3: Use Geofilters
You can tag your location on Snapchat by applying Geofilters to your pictures. Note that you need to turn on location services for Snapchat to use Geofilters. You can do that by heading into the App Settings section on your device.
Here is how you can tag your location on Snapchat using a Geofilter.
Step1: Open the Snapchat app and take the picture to which you want to tag a location. You can also select a saved picture from your phone’s gallery.
Step2: Swipe left on the picture to check available Geofilters.
Keep in mind that Snapchat has multiple filters for some locations while it does not offer any Geofilters for other locations. You can use special location filters if you are at a popular place.
Step3: Choose a location filter and tap the share option.
Your friends can now see your Snapchat picture with your selected Geolocation filter.
